The United Nations’ “Commission on the Status of Women” is meeting from March 14 – March 24, 2016 in New York. The Commission is the sole global intergovernmental body with the purpose to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women. Participants of the meeting, which is held every two years, are United Nations member states, other UN entities, and accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from around the world.
